I have just finished “How To Write a Damn Good Novel” and I wish that I could memorize that book, simply to be able to remember all its important passages. I am carrying with myself an idea for a book for quite some time and I bought Mr. Frey’s book in order to see what is required – what techniques, etc – if one wants to write a novel. Now I know, but in addition to all advice about techniques you will ever need Mr. Frey’s book gives one advice to all new authors, which is unbeatable – do it. And keep at it.
He is right. Read that book, write your own, read “How To Write…” again and correct it. Who knows, maybe your book will be the next “…Damn Good Novel”. Good luck.
